The “Gala Day of Atom” took place in Bangladesh, in the location of Rooppur More (not far from Rooppur NPP) on November 30, 2019. The festivity arranged to coincide with the first concreting at Roopur NPP was organized by the IT Nuclear power Center in Dhaka and supported by the Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division.
Over 450 residents of the town of Ishwardi of all ages participated in the festival. The Bangladeshi people had the possibility to get acquainted with nuclear employments, study the principles of NPP operation with the mobile application and create their own design of a hard hat under the supervision of a professional artist. Besides, an intellectual “Place your stake” game was organized for the guests of the festival encourage their interest in studying interesting facts about science and nuclear power by way of entertainment; so, the contest “Molecular ring toss” was organized where competitors had to guess chemical substances by their descriptions.
They could ask any questions at the festival concerning the nuclear industry and leave their proposals and requests regarding the format and promotion of events related to Rooppur NPP activities. These ideas can be used at the future events.
In the end, all participants of the “Gala Day of Atom” received souvenirs as gifts.
