Trial run of main circulation pumps was performed at Belarus NPP Unit 1

28.06.2019
At Belarus NPP Unit 1 (General Designer and General Contractor is ASE, Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division) trial run of all the four main circulation pumps (MCP) was performed. The measures on MCP operability verification were implemented within the framework of preparation for the stage of hydraulic tests of the systems and equipment for the primary and secondary circuits of the unit reactor plant (RP).

Vice President - Director for the Belarus NPP Construction Project of ASE EC JSC Vitaly Polyanin said that the stage of hydraulic tests is «one of the most important stages of the unit commissioning. The main equipment testing is the mandatory requirement for commencement of the tests”.

For verification of the unit operation safety and its high safety margin, stepwise planned pressure rise in the primary circuit up to 24,5 МPа, in the secondary circuit - up to 11,5 МPа is stipulated in the program for hydraulic tests.

Belarus NPP equipped with two VVER-1200 reactors making 2400 MW in total is being constructed according to the Russian 3+ generation design that fully complies with the safety related international standards and recommendations of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

For reference:
ASE (Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division) was established by integration of the leading companies of the industry: ASE EC JSC (Nizhny Novgorod), Atomstroyexport JSC (Moscow), Atomenergoproekt JSC (Moscow) and ATOMPROEKT JSC (St.-Petersburg).
ASE is one of the leaders in the global nuclear power engineering business holding about 30% of the global NPP construction market. Engineering Division carries out its activities in Europe, Middle East and Northern Africa as well as in the Asia-Pacific region.
80% of the portfolio include foreign projects.
It implements design and construction projects for high-power NPPs, renders a full range of EPC, EPC(M) services and develops Multi-D technologies for management of complex engineering facilities.

The Engineering Division rests upon the 50-year experience of the Russian nuclear power industry and state-of-the-art innovation technologies.
We construct reliable and safe NPPs with 3+Gen VVER reactors that are in line with all international requirements and recommendations.
