The final part of the works with regard to light roof repair was completed in the beginning of August, about what a respective Act as of August 12, 2008 was drawn up. Today the Chairman of the Working Commission, General Director of GSP Chernobyl NPP Igor Gramotkin has signed the Act of Acceptance of complete complex of works under the contract, in which, besides light roof repair performance, were included the works on installation of physical protection on access paths, and a range of measures on increasing the load from the roof on external mounted metal constructions.All undertaken obligations under the contract “Improving the safety of the “Shelter” Facility” Stabilization Consortium headed by Atomstroyexport fulfilled a month ahead of time, with high level of safety for personnel, and proceeded with guarantee period maintenance. Reference At the end of 2006 Atomstroyexport as a leader of Stabilization Consortium, which also consists of Ukrainian organizations, accomplished fulfillment of obligations under the contract on carrying out stabilization measures on the “Shelter” Facility. A year later the guarantee period term expired, within that period there occurred no remarks from the Customer (GSP Chernobyl NPP). In January 2008 the next contract was signed between Stabilization Consortium and GSP Chernobyl NPP, which involved a range of works on improving the safety of the “Shelter” Facility including light roof repair. Given contract as a previous one was concluded in the framework of SIP Program Implementation (Measures Implementation Plan on the “Shelter” Facility) financed from the funds of the International Fund “Shelter”. The Manager of the Fund is the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
