Sergey Shmatko, the President of Atomstroyexport JSC, is appointed Minister of Energy and thus has become the member of the new Russian government

Sergey I. Shmatko was appointed the President of Atomstroyexport JSC in June, 2005. The Company has achieved considerate results: won the tender on constructing Belene NPP in Bulgaria, fulfilled the construction of Tianwan NPP in China, brisked up the works at Busher NPP in Iran and Kudankulam NPP in India, signed several partner agreements with leading Russian and foreign companies. Since 2005 the company has implemented new elements of the modern management system and June, 2007 issued and placed bonds in the amount of 1,5 billion roubles disclosing information on its finance indexation, which is the unprecedented fact in the history of Russian nuclear power Atomstroyexport JSC has managed to change the management stereotypes, make the information policy of the company open and financial system more advanced. It all resulted in the company’s improved performance in the world market. In March 2008 Atomstroyexport was presented with the EPCM Awards 2007, the National award in engineering project management in the in the category “The best Russian EPC/EPCM company in the foreign market”. Due to the transfer of Sergey Shmatko to the position of Minister of Energy and in accordance with the company’s Articles of Association the resolution on electing the President of Atomstroyexport JSC will be carried by the Board of Directors. Alexander K. Nechaev, the Senior Vice-President of Atomstroyexport JSC will temporary fulfill the duties of the President of the company. In 2007 Alexander K. Nechaev was pronounced the Person of the year for managing the construction of Tianwan NPP in China.
