Atomstroyexport participated in the International exhibition in China

Atomstroyexport as part of the Russian exposition participated in the 10th International exhibition of nuclear industry (Nuclear Industry, China\' 2008) which took place on 25–28 March in Beijing. At the exhibition the company demonstrated its capabilities to construct NPP abroad and to manage projects in nuclear power engineering. The central element of the Russian exposition was a stand dedicated to Tianwan NPP which was put in commission by Atomstroyexport in 2007.
Visitors at the exhibition received the information on the Tianwan NPP project and other “Atomstroyexport” projects executed worldwide. Within the framework of the exhibition presentation and press-briefing was organized with Chinese journalists related to cooperation of Russia and China in the field of nuclear power engineering. At the exhibition the Russian nuclear industry demonstrated a wide range of its possibilities on implementation of the existing and development of prospective projects.
Many major world manufacturers of products and services of nuclear engineering, nuclear fuel cycle and power participated in the exhibition including over 90 companies from 12 countries and approximately 100 main Chinese companies-manufacturers.
At the exhibition opening Director General of Chinese national nuclear corporation Kan Zi Sin noted that “Chinese international nuclear industry exhibition takes place every year starting from 1989 and already has got recognition in the international community.
According to him “exhibition marked transition from “gradual development politics of nuclear power engineering” to politics of “intensive development”. He said that “in October 2007 Chinese government approved medium-term and long-term plans on development of nuclear power engineering which provide for construction of 40 GW generating capacities, at that up to 2020 it is planned to build power generating units with capacity 18 GW.
Two units of Tianwan NPP in Jiangsu province were put in commission in 2007 within the framework of politics implementation on development of nuclear power engineering and industry. Altogether in China there are 11 power generating units operating and another twenty power generating units are in the construction phase.
In the welcoming speech Deputy Director General of the State power agency Sun Zin said: “Chinese nuclear power engineering today has unprecedented perspectives for development. I hope that foreign equipment manufacturers for nuclear industry will help China to develop Chinese companies to achieve the world level of management and technologies”. He said: “I hope that development of Chinese nuclear industry will make International nuclear industry exhibition a forum of world nuclear power engineering, which will considerably contribute to the development of nuclear power engineering”.
