State companies Atomstroyexport and Tekhnopromexport agreed on strategic partnership and establish JV for construction and management of energy projects abroad and in Russia.

Cooperation memorandum signed on 19th of February 2008 by company leaders stresses the necessity to establish a big national player for mutual strengthening of positions on target markets of service markets. Effort combining feasibility of the two biggest Russian engineering companies operating abroad is supported availability of same suppliers and similar technological approaches in power station designing and construction. “Establishment of a joint venture is an optimal scheme for implementation of large joint power projects. Thus, we create a company capable to advance integrally Russian technologies in perspective foreign markets”, says Deputy Director of Atomenergoprom, the President of Atomstroyexport Sergey Shmatko. “We have technologies and experience in construction of plants in traditional power engineering and our partners have experience in construction of NPP abroad. Such measure will allow to decrease marketing expenses on projects and eliminate unwanted competition among companies including in the inner market”, - Director General of Tekhnopromexport Sergey Molozhavy believes. State corporations Rosatom and Rostekhnologii have supported the JV idea.
