Within August 12 - 14, 2022, Vyborg (the Leningrad Region) will host the IN.Borg Engineering Festival of Cultural Design organized by the Atomic Energy Information Center (AEIC) of St. Petersburg. The Festival is supported by the Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division and promoted by the Administration of the Leningrad Region and the “Park Mon Repos State Historical, Architectural and Natural Reserve Museum” State Budgetary Institution of Culture of the Leningrad Region.

The festival will be held as a cultural and edutainment open-air event and will offer participants to take a new look at up-to-date technologies, knowledge and thinking. During the days of the IN.Borg festival, Vyborg will become a multi-format and multi-scientific discussion panel that unites engineering and cultural traditions of different historical periods. The events, lectures, public talks and performances will be arranged for Russian artists, photographers, historians and art historians, film directors, music historians, representatives of the engineering and design communities, whose projects conceive and interpret the world in different ways.

Thus, the guests participating in master classes, will be able to trace the progress from the potter's wheel to a 3D printer. At on-line lectures, they will make a VR-immersion in digital design technologies for the contemporary art and artificial intelligence. Besides, at the lecture accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra of the Leningrad Region, they will learn how music taps one’s creativity, unites people and helps them implement their projects.

Everyone will be able to go on "The-City-as-Seen-by-the-Eyes-of-an-Engineer” walking tours. These tours around Vyborg which is an open-air museum of engineering, will reveal its secrets of design solutions in architecture.

The guests’ photo tours in the Mon Repos park will be attended by photographers Roman Pyshkin, who captured the beauty of engineering during the construction of the Novovoronezh NPP, and Marie Nikitina from St. Petersburg known for her surrealist manner. The photo tours will be guided by the works of the ASE International Photo Awards contest participants.

Also in the Mon Repos park, each participant of the festival will have an opportunity to join the team of Engineering Division volunteers and implement together a project of Atomenergoproekt JSC young designers (Atomproekt JSC is a part of the Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division), to transform old and dying trees into art objects.

The nighttime program at the Vyborg Castle will feature OQJAV, POLNALYUBVI and Megapolis bands, and the festival’s finale will be a lecture delivered by Dina Kirnarskaya, a competent authority in musical psychology, and accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra of the Leningrad Region.
