Atomstroyexport chooses suppliers for construction of Yuzhnouralsk GRES-2 power complex (state district power station)

The presentation of Ansaldo Energia (Italy) took place at Atomstroyexport JSC (ASE JSC). It is planned to arrange similar presentations of other world leading power machine manufacturers in the near future.
Performance specifications of the equipment, manufactured by Ansaldo Energia, were reviewed at the presentation, and also possible service programs for the said equipment. Representatives of the project customer, Joint-Stock Company “Third Generating Company of Electric Power Wholesale Market” (OGK-3 JSC), attended the presentation.
“The capabilities of Atomstroyexport allow to participate successfully in realization of the Russian power designs, including construction and modernization of thermal power generating projects”, – stated Alexander Gluhov, the First Vice-president of the company. – Presently Atomstroyexport is also participating in construction of the combined-cycle plant (CCP) at Nevinnomysk GRES, and we are planning to extend our involvement in the traditional power engineering in future. Currently the negotiations are held with potential suppliers, both Russian and foreign companies, with regard to construction of Yuzhnouralsk GRES-2 and the most competitive offers are being identified”.

Being the international supplier of power plants on a “turnkey” basis, Ansaldo Energia designs and constructs power units of several types: TPS with steam-power cycle, geothermal, combined-cycle plants, both condensing and cogenerating ones and offers various services for nuclear power plants. In accordance with demands of the power market, manufacture of combined-cycle power plants within the range from 100 up to 1600 MW has become its main business activity.
Reference:On October 16, 2009 Atomstroyexport Joint-Stock Company (ASE JSC) and Joint-Stock Company “Third Generating Company of Electric Power Wholesale Market” (OGK-3 JSC) signed the contract based on the EPC model for construction of Yuzhnouralsk GRES-2 power complex.
Yuzhnouralsk GRES-2 power complex is a condensing combined-cycle power station (CCP-CPS) consisting of three power units of 1200 MW total capacity (3 units of 400 MW each) with auxiliary structures and communications. Currently Atomstroyexport JSC is holding negotiations with the Russian and western potential equipment suppliers. The station will be constructed 5 km away from the existing Yuzhnouralsk GRES site.
