JSC “Atomstroyexport” has won the tender for project “South Ural GRES-2” (State District Power Plant -2)

On the 7-th of August, 2009 JSC “Atomstroyexport” (JSC ASE), and JSC “The Third Generating Company of the Electric Power Wholesale Market” (JSC “OGK-3”) signed the protocol where the triumph of JSC ASE in the tender for construction of energy complex “South Ural GRES-2” has been fixed. According to the engineering solution the object is a condensation combined cycle power plant (CCP-CNPP; PGU-KES) from three power units with the total power of 1200 MW. The commissioning of the first unit is planned for 2012, of the second and the third ones, upon the confirmation by the Customer of the requirement for their erection, - before 2014.
According to the tender requirements, on the 25-th of May, 2009 JSC “Atomstroyexport” officially submitted its bid to the Customer. Totally the tender board has considered eight bids.
The status of the leading engineering company in the atomic construction abroad allows JSC “Atomstroyexport” to use its accumulated experience for realizing Russian energy projects, including on the construction and re-equipment of GRES (State District Power Plant). Thus, on the 24-th of July, 2008 an agreement on control of engineering, purchases, erection of CCP (PGU) power units with the capacity of 410 MW at the GRES (State District Power Plant) site in Nevinnomyssk between JSC “OGK-5”, Consortium of Companies “ENEL Produzione S.p.A. and JSC “Atomstroyexport” was signed. The commissioning of the new combined cycle plant is planned for the end of 2010.
