A wide front of the works on the starting complex equipment setup have been launched at Kudankulam NPP being under construction on Russian technologies in India. It became possible owing to putting into operation of a switch-cabinet 220 KW and two startup-standby transformers on December 2008 and provision of power supply of NPP site.
Pre-commissioning works are carried out on management systems, electro-technical and technological equipment of chemical water treatment supplied by Atomstroyexport JSC and mounted by the specialists of Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL). As a next step it’s planned to perform the works on flushing of technological systems of chemical water treatment with its following complex setup, obtaining of chemically desalinated water and making its reserve for flushing operations of technological systems of the power unit.
The pre-commissioning works were carried out on the desalination plant stipulated for desalination of the sea water. The plant was commissioned under the project scheme of power supply, and is ready to produce technical water for NPP needs.
In the nearest time the voltage shall be supplied on the sections of normal operation of the first power unit with the following launching of the works on electro-technical equipment setup in main buildings.
