The first lot of equipment has been supplied for Tianwan NPP-2

On July, 31th the first lot of equipment has been supplied for Tianwan NPP-2 in China.
The first procurement of Russian equipment for the TNPP-2 contained four sealed pipeline penetrations of the reactor containment sumps for power unit №3. Penetrations of the reactor containment sumps (intended for coolant leak collecting in case of design-based accidents) totally weigh more than 120 tons. Equipment manufacturer – JSC “Polesje”, Volgodonsk, Rostov area.
The head of TNPP Construction management of JSC NIAEP brunch in Moscow – Alexey Bannik – states that to provide concrete casting of the bedplate of power unit №3 reactor building, the equipment have been manufactured in the heightened rates under request of the Chinese customer. For the same purpose it is scheduled to manufacture pipelines and to deliver them to the TNPP-2 site in August.
“Up to the end of 2012 it is also scheduled to deliver sealed penetrations, tanks and pipelines in China for the TNPP units 3&4. In 2013-2014 the scope of Russian procurements to the TNPP-2 will essentially increase, and in 2015, according to the project schedule, it will be at the peak, - Alexey Bannik has informed”.
Reference: Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant (TNPP) is the largest project of economic cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and the Russian Federation. According to the Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental agreement signed in 1992, construction of the TNPP power units 1&2 was conducted by JSC ASE. In 2007 the first stage of the TNPP – power units 1&2 (1060 MW) was accepted by the Customer (JNPC corporation), and the plant was put in guarantee operation proving its safety and reliability. On November 23d,2010 the General Agreement on construction of the second stage of the TNPP (1060 MW power-generating units 3& 4) was signed by JSC “Atomstroyeksport” and JNPC, CNPE, CNEIC acting in common. In August, 2011 China and Russia confirmed that the Agreement had come in force.

The merged company JSC NIAEP – JSC Atomstroyexport (ASE) was established in March 2012 by the resolution of the State atomic energy corporation Rosatom. Thus, NIAEP has become a holding company JSC ASE.
The structure of the new consolidated company represents a network of offices in charge of construction project management, including:
- a design institute in Nizhny Novgorod;
- three offices in charge of NPP construction project management (in Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow and St-Petersburg);
- representative offices in 10 countries of Europe and Asia where projects are being executed or planned (Bulgaria, Hungary, Vietnam, Iran, India, China, Turkey, Czechia, Slovakia and Ukraine).
Today over 4000 people are working for our company; this figure amounts to over 7000 if the personnel of the subsidiaries is included.
20 projects either being under construction or design are now underway in Russia and abroad.
