On 9th February, winners of the competition “Best Russian Enterprises. Dynamics, Efficiency, Responsibility – 2011” were announced at the 19th convention of the Russian businessmen and manufacturers’ union. JSC NIAEP won the “Innovative Company” nomination, and together with JSC TVEL, NIAEP was awarded the prize in the category “Development of nonfinancial reporting in the nuclear industry”. The company has been actively introducing innovations and is the first to deploy and apply Multi-D smart engineering technology in the nuclear branch. For the first time in Russian and worldwide practice, the company is developing a nuclear power plant life cycle management system – from engineering up to decommissioning. This technology allows modeling construction and installation works prior to their commencement and planning optimal use of resources. This technology improves labor efficiency, job performance quality and safety at NPPs and reduces time of construction and installation works and the project costs. NIAEP’s 2009 and 2010 annual reports are recognized as the best among the annual reports of Russian nuclear companies. “This means that our company’s innovations are recognized in Russia”, says Nickolay Sheshokin, NIAEP human resources deputy director. “At present NIAEP is a leading engineering company in the Russian nuclear industry, it is one of the most stable and dynamically developing”. As for the second nomination, NIAEP takes public annual reporting in a serious and responsible manner, positioning itself as an open and transparent company. The annual report is a company’s business card, presented to every partner, either current or potential; moreover, it is the public image of the Russian nuclear industry. The competition, organized by the Russian businessmen and manufacturers’ union, was held in 15 categories. The organizing committee received 151 applications from all the federal districts of Russia, from the regional branches of the Russian businessmen and manufacturers’ union in 32 constituents of Russian Federation, and if the companies under Social Responsibility category are taken into account (included in National register of nonfinancial reports and in Library of corporate practices), then the overall number of participants reached 500.

The company is the developer of the key power facilities in Russia. Today Nizhny Novgorod engineering company “Atomenergoproekt” is the General Contractor for construction projects: – Kalinin NPP-4, – Rostov NPP-3&4; participates in designing nuclear power plants abroad: – NPP in Kazakhstan, – Kudankulam in India, – Bushehr NPP in Iran; carries out site survey and investigation activities for: – Rostov NPP-3&4, – Novovoronezh NPP-2, – Tver NPP, – Nizhny Novgorod NPP.At the end of 2011, two competencies: JSC NIAEP and JSC Atomstroyexport were merged. The both companies are working on 20 projects being implemented simultaneously in Russia and abroad. The company is using advanced software products for nuclear power plant engineering. Since 2002 a 3-D model has been applied in NPP engineering. A quality management system was introduced in the company complying with the requirements of the international standards. It was successfully certified in the TUV SUD international center.
