JSC NIAEP and Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev: a Cooperation Agreement

On 14th June 2012, at the 2nd International Research and Practice Forum “Life Cycle Management of Complex Engineering Projects. Development of Competitive Construction Technologies” JSC NIAEP and Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev signed a cooperation agreement setting up a specialized academic department of the university in NIAEP. This department of the technical university to be named as “Life cycle management systems of complex engineering facilities” will be set up in NIAEP and will be headed by Valery Limarenko, Director of NIAEP-ASE, Doctor of economics.“For the University this specialized department means effective cooperation with one of the key and advanced nuclear companies, says Sergey Dmitriev, vice rector of the Technical University. The integration of the company and the university will help to minimize the time needed for newcomers for adaptation and will ensure that they will get involved faster into their work. We plan to teach students additional skills related to the priority areas of the nuclear industry, to collaborate with NIAEP specialists and to conduct R&D and studies, to develop highly skilled staff – post-graduates and doctoral candidates majoring in various fields. The cooperation agreement also make provisions for training of students of the Technical University to be arranged in NIAEP; for the Pozdyshev scholarship designed to motivate the students who have achieved high performance in studies and in practical training; for training and professional development of NIAEP employees and other areas of joint activities.

The merged company JSC NIAEP – JSC Atomstroyexport (ASE) was established in March 2012 by the resolution of the State atomic energy corporation Rosatom. Thus, NIAEP has become a holding company JSC ASE. The structure of the new consolidated company represents a network of offices in charge of construction project management, including: - a design institute in Nizhny Novgorod;- three offices in charge of NPP construction project management (in Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow and St-Petersburg);- representative offices in 10 countries of Europe and Asia where projects are being executed or planned (Bulgaria, Hungary, Vietnam, Iran, India, China, Turkey, Czechia, Slovakia and Ukraine). Today over 4000 people are working for our company; this figure amounts to over 7000 if the personnel of the subsidiaries is included. 20 projects either being under construction or design are now underway in Russia and abroad. List of the power plants under construction and design carried out by the merged company:- Kalinin NPP 4;- Rostov NPP 3 and 4;- Baltic NPP 1 and 2;- Nizhny Novgorod NPP 1 and 2;- Uzhnouralskaya GRES-2 Units 1 and 2;- Tianwan NPP 3 and 4 (China);- Bushehr NPP -1 (Iran);- Akkuyu NPP 1 and 2 (Turkey);- Belarus NPP 1 and 2;- Kudankulam NPP 1 and 2 (India);- Ninh thuan 1 and 2 (Vietnam).
