On 14th June 2012 in Nizhny Novgorod at the 2nd International Research and Practice Forum JSC NIAEP and the nuclear SRO sign a cooperation agreement

14.06.2012
The nuclear SRO including three non-profit partnerships – Soyuzatomstroy, Soyuzatomproekt and Soyuzatomgeo – were set up two years ago because the government regulation of admission to work was replaced with self-regulation. Today the SROs unite over 700 organizations and companies. According to Victor Opekunov, president of the nuclear SRO, the requirements in the nuclear SRO are ten-fold more stringent than in other industries. The SROs strive to enhance all the components of responsibility, quality of work, qualification of builders. Before obtaining the permit to work on Rosatom NPP construction sites the organizations are carefully checked. Organizations-members of the SRO are continuously supervised, compliance with SNIP and GOST standards is checked. “We have managed to create a supervisory system when all the current construction sites are inspected. Besides, the SRO is engaged in training specialists needed for the nuclear industry. We have opened training centers for bulders in Moscow and Novovoronezh where basic building disciplines are taught. We plan to open three more centers, for instance, in the town of Neman where NIAEP is building the Kaliningrad NPP. In the nearest future we will discuss opening a similar center in Nizhny Novgorod to prepare workers for the Nizhny Novgorod NPP construction project,”- Victor Opekunov said. Signing the agreement Valery Limarenko, director of NIAEP-ASE, said, “We are interested in cooperation with the nuclear SRO as in their activities these organizations aim to unite construction companies that can build nuclear facilities to a good quality and on tight schedule using innovative technologies. NIAEP is also ready to collaborate actively when preparing highly skilled workers and engineers.
