Rostov NPP-3 construction project: first heavy equipment delivered to the construction site

09.06.2012
2 standby transformers (in-house load transformers 5 and 6) have been delivered to the Rostov – 3 construction site. This heavy weight equipment (weight per transformer amounts to about 90 tons) is intended to provide for one of the key construction stages in the project in 2012 – power supply for in-house loads.
At the present moment preparation is underway on the site to arrange the transformers on their as-designed position: specialists are working at the outdoor transformer installation preparing the cubicles of the outdoor 220 kV switchgear.
Thus, the delivery of the in-house load transformers 5 and 6 signified start of a new stage – delivery of the heavy equipment for start-up of the power unit.
According to Valery Limarenko, NIAEP-ASE director, power supply for the Rostov-3 in-house loads is to be provided in the third quarter of the current year – strictly on schedule.
