NIAEP annual report – absolute winner in the public reporting contest of the state corporation Rosatom

Results of the public reporting contest between organizations of the state corporation Rosatom were finalized on November 23 rd , 2012. According to the votes cast by the contest jury the NIAEP 2011 public report has been recognized as the best among the reports presented by 65 nuclear companies. It should be noted that the report of the company has been recognized as the winner for three consecutive years.
The company's 2011 public report has also taken the first place in the category “Best Reporting on Interaction with Stakeholders” and “Best Public Reporting System”, the second place for “Best Reporting in Line with International Reporting Practices” and the third place for “Best Level of Information Disclosure in the Public Report”.
The company's annual report has been prepared in compliance with the international and nuclear industry public reporting requirements.
In addition to indicators of the financial and economic performance the document contains information on socio-economic and environmental performance, NPP safety and also on development of competencies and prospects of strategic development of the company. The core difference of the 2011 report from the previous ones is that this report has an A+ level of reporting according to the GRI guidelines.
Among the participants of the contest there were 20 major (from the point of view of public reporting) organizations of the state corporation Rosatom, JSC TVEL and JSC Atomenergomash and also open stock companies which are affiliates of the state corporation Rosatom and JSC Atomenergoprom. This year the contest was arranged in three stages: two qualifications and the third stage – finals during which the contest jury gave marks. The jury consisted of independent representatives of the main stakeholders of the state corporation Rosatom. The jury included representatives of such bodies as Russian union of manufacturers and businessmen, Public Council of the state corporation Rosatom, Institute of nuclear power engineering safe development, Russian Academy of Sciences, Federal Service of environmental, technological and nuclear supervision, Interregional environmental public organization “Green Cross”, Ernst&Young, KPMG etc.
Valery Limarenko, president of NIAEP, managing body Atomstroyexport, emphasized that “The annual report is the company's business card presented to every partner current or potential, moreover, it is the public image of the Russian nuclear industry”.
For reference : The public reporting contest among organizations of the state corporation Rosatom is held to enhance information transparency of nuclear companies, to improve public reporting systems and interaction between nuclear companies and stakeholders. The contest has been held for four consecutive years. In 2012 one more stage (third) and several new categories have been added, the number of participants has increased up to 65 (it was 48 in 2011 ) among which there are 20 major organizations.

The merged company JSC NIAEP – JSC Atomstroyexport (ASE) was established in March 2012 by the resolution of the State atomic energy corporation Rosatom. Thus, NIAEP has become a holding company JSC ASE.
