Rostov NPP: power unit N 3 early commissioning

20.11.2013
Efforts of NIAEP-ASE on application of innovative project management systems and work organization methods earned a high appraisal. This conclusion may be made as the working visit of S. Kirienko Director general of the State Corporation “Rosatom” draws to its close. During the visit it was decided to re-schedule the handover of the third power unit of the Rostov plant from early 2015 to December 2014.
“The third unit is being constructed ahead of schedule. Commissioning was scheduled for 2015. Having assessed the works progress we have decided to re-schedule the commissioning to 2014. The third power unit will be commissioned in December 2014. The work is intense as we advanced the date. But I have no doubts. Work is well-organized on the site and I feel certain that the power unit will be commissioned by the end of the year “, - said S.Kirienko.
During the visit to Rostov NPP Sergey Kirienko also studied the construction progress at the fourth power unit of the plant. “It was important for me to understand how things are with construction of the fourth unit. It can go ahead of schedule . We begin to think that, may be, it will be possible to advance the commissioning date of this unit as well”.
The Rostov site is a place of active deployment of not only the RPS but also of elements of the unique complex construction project management technology – Multi-D - developed by the merged company.
In future the best practices will be applied for construction projects of NIAEP ASE both in Russia and abroad which will undoubtedly strengthen the leading position of NIAEP-ASE at the nuclear engineering and construction market and at other markets, particularly, at those of thermal generation facilities.
