On October 23 Eugenie Romanov , General director of JSC “Concern Rosenergoatom” visited the site of Units 3&4 constructed by the merged company JSC NIAEP - JSC ASE .
During the visit , Mr . Romanov inspected the construction progress and visited the main facilities of Unit 3 start up complex.
The Customer pays special attention to the Rostov Unit, for the industry top management has decided to shift terms of Unit 3 connection to the grid to the left. In other words, the Unit must be ready for commissioning ahead of the scheduled.
“We have set an ambitious goal- commission the Unit 3 in 2014. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to monitor the events that enable to solve all these tasks. I am absolutely satisfied with the seen on the site. Today, the Rostov NPP Unit 3 is the best construction of “Rosenergoatom” “- marked out E.V.Romanov.
Currently, on Unit 3 are completed erection works on all the systems of automated process control system (APCS) and adjusting works are being executed on equipment involved in open reactor flushing. By 30% are executed works on adjustment of the system of reactor compartment operation control, by 40%- pre-start activities on safety controlling systems and by 20 % are executed works on the turbine island system adjustment.
“I'd like to stress that the shift of terms to the left, when the Unit will be handed over 2 months ahead of the schedules is a unique case,- marked out Valery Limarenko, President of the merged company JSC NIAEP- JSC ASE.- In this respect we are to correct the construction schedule . I'd like to underscore that change of task 1,5 years before commissioning is a formidable but solvable task. We treat it seriously, and I am absolutely confident that we will solve the task appropriately.”
Speaking on the degree of the Unit readiness, Andrey Salnikov, Director of the operating Rostov NPP, marked out: “We are now in active stage of pre-start activities. For the first time these works are executed with energy supply being on a constant diagram . This economizes time and enhances quality of executed works. Additional checking of equipment after switching energy from temporary diagram to constant becomes unnecessary. Moreover, already now reactor, electric shops, thermal instrumentation and control shop are staffed with shifts of operating personnel. Accordingly, adjustment and testing of equipment is performed from unit control board in normal operation mode ».

In 2014, JSC “Concern Rosenergoatom” accepts for commissioning, apart from the Rostov NPP Unit 3, also Novovoronezh NPP-2 Unit 4 and Beloyarsk NPP Unit with fast neutron reactor- 800.
