Approaches to estimation of electricity value at various life cycle stages of projects are discussed at the round table arranged by the merged company JSC NIAEP – JSC ASE at Atomexpo-2014

The International forum “ATOMEXPO” (Moscow) is the biggest expo and business platform for meetings and negotiations for the world nuclear power leaders.
As part of the Forum on 10th June 2014 the merged company JSC NIAEP – JSC ASE held its own round table discussion “Planning and optimization of the NPP generated electric power cost at the design and construction stages”. The round table was dedicated to discussion of existing approaches to estimation of electricity price at various project life cycle stages.
Djurica Tankosic, vice-president of the company Worley Parsons, was the moderator of the discussion. Well-known foreign experts and heads of big international companies took part in the panel discussion as speakers.
On behalf of “NIAEP” JSC –ASE Mikhail Sherbak, Director for capital construction, made a report about NIAEP-ASE’ Approaches to NPP projects evaluation and optimization by using LCOE metric.
Ilya Vergizaev, director-general of Alstom-Atomenergomash, spoke of kW/h cost management in designing of complex long-lead equipment. According to him optimization of the research and production process at the long-lead equipment manufacturing stage is one of the main conditions of kW*h cost optimization.
Anton Grigoriev, consultant of JSC group company Rosenergoatom, spoke on the role of the operator – customer in optimization of NPP generated electric power price taking JSC group company Rosenergoatom as an example. According to Anton Grigoriev 100 functions in the NPP construction project management include 73 functions in which JSC group company Rosenergoatom is involved in case of projects in Russia and RAOS – in case of international projects.
Antonio González, Senior Vice President at Empresarios Agrupados, spoke about the key factors affecting Capital Investment Costs in NPP construction projects. Jaromir Novak, General Director of Euroenergy spol s.r.o., delivered a speech on the legislation impact on the construction and operation costs. Novak noted that the rise in the licensing cost which has been observed in the world after the accident at Fukusima NPP bears serious financial risks.
Feridun ALAK, Head of Electric Energy Trading Department of TETAŞ, presented a report on TETAŞ’s role in NPP Projects and Tariff setting mechanism of Akkuyu Project. Rafael Schmill, Director of Italian office Strategy&, talked about assessment of variability of parameters influencing the energy cost including country specific features.
Among the invited experts there were such distinguished guests as Livio Vido, Chairman, Enel Ingegneria e Ricerca S.p.A. and Dominique Fache, President of the Sophia Antipolis Foundation, formerly, director of Schlumberger in Russia and the CIS, board director of SUEK (Siberian coal energy company), chairman of board of directors of Enel OGK-5 and founder of “Club de Nice”.
