Sergey Pedora, Head of the ASE Division for development of the Multi-D products (which belongs to the Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division) has spoken as an expert at the fifteenth annual conference for the developers of HighLoad++ high-load systems.

The conference was attended by over 3,000 people coming from different regions of Russia and the world and representing industrial enterprises, IT companies, banks, digital services. Rosatom was invited as a leader in the digitalization of the Russian industry and a partner of the state, to frame the national technological sovereignty.

Sergey Pedora has become a participant of the “Real Sector” round table dedicated to "Why developers are interested in working in industrial companies" issues, to discuss the state and opportunities for the development of IT-technologies in the industry, the process of their development, working with the internal customer.

According to the speakers, the companies’ investments made in digitalization projects in 2019 have been worth three times as much in 2022. The round table participants have noted that it is industrial enterprises that have to tackle the most challenging tasks related to data and equipment management, generation and implementation of the advanced analytics systems, IIoT, and AR / VR.

Sergey Pedora believes that the industry has already met with a deep penetration of the digital technologies, and their importance is expected to grow only, however we cannot say that all companies will become IT companies. The digitization is costly and there is a wide range of various options in this area, such as the use of a service model. This scenario is represented by Rosatom, which has many manufacturing companies and several IT- companies servicing them in various areas. At the same time, to solve the whole range of tasks, it is advisable to purchase ready-made mass-market products, use low-code systems and available digital platforms. He has also pointed out that large industrial companies have basically worked their way up to a product-based approach, iterative development and partnership in development with the customer.

“The purpose of the round table was attracting IT developers to the industry. As to the digitalization of the banks and personnel, all interesting things have already been done in this area, but the digitalization of the industry and development of the industrial software is still an open problem. Therefore, participation in such large-scale projects is a professional challenge for ambitious developers,” said the Rosatom representative.
