The third stage of educational and practical project “BIM-management” (information and digital modeling) has started in Nizhny Novgorod. The project is being implemented by the Industry Competence Center “Engineering Design” established on the basis of Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division jointly with Vysotskiy consulting, Nizhny Novgorod State Architectural and Construction University and Nizhny Novgorod Regional Division “Russian Students Teams” with the support of Ministry of Urban Planning and Agglomeration Development of Nizhny Novgorod Region. The opening ceremony of the third stage was held in the Center for Architecture.

Within the framework of the training stage, the students will master new technologies of information modeling, teamwork methods, will learn to comply with the deadlines during BIM-projects implementation. The students who will successfully complete the training, will receive advanced training certificates and prizes from the organizers and the partners. A free on-line course is scheduled for six months.

“Our educational course takes into account the importance of digital technologies in designing and demand for specialists in this field on the labor market”, said Alexey Agafonov, Project organizer– Director for support and development of designing of Atomenergoproekt JSC. “Considering the growing demands in the local software, the training will make a special emphasis on Russian products. This year our traditional partners   Renga Software, SCoft and Ascon were joined by 2GIS, the company which has been producing the same-name electronic directories with city maps from 1999, and VR Concept - the developer of software for virtual reality.

The participants of the third stage will perform a unique task – make digital models of facilities of the 26th All-Russia Industrial and Art Exhibition held in 1896 in Nizhny Novgorod and place them in the virtual reality.

The All-Russia Exhibition of 1896 was a milestone event for our city. The scale and magnitude of the engineering thought, the architectural and cultural phenomena demonstrated to the world until now excite the inquiring minds of researchers from different fields of knowledge.    The state archive of St.Petersburg provided to us the copies of all the buildings in full scope and excellent quality. I am sure that the reconstruction of the facilities of the All-Russia Exhibition means will not only help the trainees aсquire new skills in designing but will also introduce to them the unique heritage, the possibility to return to the city a full-scale digital image, even though digital, of such an important event in its history”, said Marina Rakova, Minister of Urban Planning and Agglomeration Development of Nizhny Novgorod Region.

BIM-management Project has been successfully implemented from 2020. Upon the results of two stages, over 2800 participants from 40 countries have undergone training; over 1300 buildings of Nizhny Novgorod and St. Petersburg have been modeled. All the digital copies of Nizhny Novgorod are included into the informational and analytical system of Nizhny Novrogod “3D-City”. In 2021, the project was awarded a special certificate of the GPM Awards Russia 2021 national competition for professional project management in the area of sustainable development.
