Rosatom Is Taking Part in the XXVI Belarus Energy and Environmental Forum

The Belarus Energy and Environmental Forum, the largest international exhibition event held in Belarus and dedicated to energy-saving equipment, technologies and materials for the energy sector, is taking place in Minsk on October 11-14.

The Rosatom State Corporation delegation is taking an active part in the exhibition and the main events of the forum business programme. While delivering their speeches, company representatives have highlighted the nuclear technologies’ impact on achieving the UNO goals of sustainable development, presented their solutions pertaining to the development of electric transport, the technological processes digitalization for power generation facilities.

At the exhibition held as part of the forum, Rosatom State Corporation has presented an exposition dedicated to the Russian state-of-the-art nuclear technologies, both in terms of NPP construction and operation, and advanced solutions in the area of energy conservation, digitalization, etc.
The State Corporation Engineering Division has demonstrated an interactive VR content to the visitors, bearing on the main safety systems of the WWER-equipped nuclear power plants that are being built according to the Russian design in Russia and abroad.

According to Vitaly Polyanin, ASE JSC Vice-President - Director for the Belarus NPP Construction Project, the Engineering Division participates in the forum for the fourth time and has already seen the true value of this event. “The Belarus Energy and Environmental Forum has established itself as an efficient platform that helps to exchange experience and promote advanced technologies in the area of energy and environmental issues. Also, the forum has everything necessary for the meaningful discussion between representatives of the state authorities, industrial and energy enterprises, the scientific community, which contributes to the early implementation of breakthrough developments and allows taking a major step forward.”

On October 11, at the round table conference, Stanislav Levitsky, Director of the Rosatom State Corporation Country Office in the Republic of Belarus spoke about the nuclear technologies’ contribution to the buildup of energy security and development of the country's economy, and presented non-energy solutions in the nuclear area allowing achievement of the UNO goals of sustainable development.

Also on that day, Andrey Esaev, Rusatom Greenway Commercial Director, told the participants of the "ESG-transformation and sustainable development" Research-to-Practice conference about the company's competencies as an industry-specific environmental integrator and its capabilities in organizing the most reliable and responsible approach to waste management. According to his words, Rusatom Greenway joins today almost 80 years of experience, technologies of the Rosatom State Corporation enterprise and the best world practices in terms of industrial waste management.

The company's competencies include processing of the waste into valuable products, establishment of the infrastructure and engineering systems, clean-up of the environmental damage, generation of clean energy from the waste, implementation of investment projects and localization of technologies.

At the "Reality and prospects of electric transport" round table taking place on October 12, Alexey Goryaev, head of the "Electrotransport” focus area of RENERA LLC - Rosatom industry integrator in the field of energy storage system,- has delivered the "From a lithium mine to electric vehicle” presentation dedicated to the company’s plans to build the first “gigafactory” in Russia, whose official launch is scheduled for October 14 in the Kaliningrad region; on top of that, he has shared his experience in the development of lithium-ion traction batteries for electric vehicles. It should be pointed out that RENERA LLC has been rapidly developing cooperation with Belarus manufacturers of electric vehicles. In particular, a contract has been signed in 2022 with BKM Holding for the supply of RENERA lithium-ion batteries for 97 autonomous overstroke trolleybuses intended for St. Petersburg. The cooperation is underway with the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, in the development of energy storage systems, to provide a production process base and increase the number of electric vehicles used in the Republic of Belarus.
