Rosatom Engineering Division Has Again Became a Partner of the Bookids Family Festival in Minsk

The Engineering Division of Rosatom State Corporation supported for the third time the “Atom Team, Join Us!” project, organized by the network of the Atomic Energy Information Centers (AEIC) as part of the Bookids family festival held in Minsk (the Republic of Belarus) on June 17-18. Members of student construction brigades involved in the Belarus NPP construction helped also in organizing the work of the site.

The festival was attended by more than 4,000 people who while playing, tried themselves as nuclear industry specialists and learned about the potential of nuclear technologies. This year, the main topic of the interactive nuclear site has been the competence of a power engineer; both children and adults have got acquainted with the profession of a designer, construction worker, with the configuration of a nuclear power plant and the work of the Belarus unified power grid.

“Go Ahead Like an Engineer” topical area, “Large Construction Site”, “High Voltage”, “Design Like an Engineer” and “Think Like an Engineer” locations were organized for the guests of the festival. “Atom Team”participants were entertained at trivia mini-championships dedicated to nuclear technologies, a creative input area, a dance floor. Besides, "Engineering Tent Pavilion” was also arranged to let the guests build on their own the "electricity path" from a power plant to a socket outlet, assemble a simple electrical circuit and launch a chain reaction.

“The Engineering Division has always focused on developing the countries of its business operations through organizing non-profit, environmental, cultural and educational events. The “Atom Team, Join Us!” festival has become for us a tradition. We have a warm friendly attitude towards the Belarusians, so it is always a pleasure to organize holidays for them, that are especially focused on issues of education and vocational counseling. We try to foster interest in nuclear occupations from a young age and develop it consistently,” said Nina Dementsova, Head of ASE JSC Communications Division.
