Atomenergoproekt Paid Royalty Fees for Intellectual Deliverables in the Amount of More than 16 mln. Rub. in 2022

JSC Atomenergoproekt (belonging to the Engineering Division of Rosatom State Corporation) paid more than 150 royalties for the generation and use of service intellectual deliverables (ID) in 2022, for a total amount of more than 16.4 million rubles, which exceeds 3 times the similar indicator for 2021.

The development and stimulation of scientific, R&D and innovative activities is a prioritized activity of the Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division. Atomenergoproekt JSC is the division's leading company, the general designer of all large-capacity nuclear power plants being built in Russia and abroad. The company provides a full range of works and services for the scientific development of prospective NPP projects, their design and construction support. At the same time, JSC Atomenergoproekt focuses on issues as to provide legal protection and build up a portfolio of rights to key products and innovative technologies in the area of its responsibility.

At the end of 2022, Atomenergoproekt JSC received 11 Russian patents for inventions and utility models, 55 patents for inventions in foreign countries (USA, Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Egypt, South Africa, EU countries, etc.), 13 certificates of registration of computer programmes/databases, 13 know-hows; 10 comprehensive patent studies were conducted as part of 7 innovative R&D projects.

More than 100 official review requests filed by foreign patent offices on the earlier submitted invention patent applications were handled as part of the international patenting procedure,

Moreover, the Atomenergoproekt JSC intellectual property management team became a leader in 2022 to win in two categories of the annual IP Russia Awards in the field of intellectual property of the Russian Federation, presenting the “Legal protection of NPP technology with a VVER-1200 reactor plant in the Russian Federation and abroad” project deliverables.

The team took the silver prize in the nomination “Best Strategy to Protect the Intellectual Deliverables in the Fuel and Energy Complex”, and the bronze prize respectively, in the nomination “Effective ID Portfolio Management Strategy”.

Active Atomenergoproekt JSC intellectual property portfolio includes 482 items in total, such as 78 Russian patents for inventions and utility models, 176 international inventions patents, 154 computer programmes, 28 databases, 16 know-hows, 30 works of science.

Approximately 360 international patent applications continue to be under patent examination in more than 30 countries worldwide.
