Radiation Safety

Nuclear and radiation safety in the Engineering Division is ensured in accordance with Federal Law of RF No 170-FZ dd. 21.07.1997 “On the Use of Atomic Energy”, the requirements of regulatory documents of RF and Unified Industry Policy of Rosatom State Corporation in the field of nuclear safety.

The operation of radioactive sources is organized in strict accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents in the field of nuclear facilities use.

In order to perform activities with sources of ionizing radiation, licenses are available for the right to perform works in the sphere of nuclear power use issued by the state safety regulatory body.

The persons responsible for ensuring radiation safety, accounting and supervision and physical protection from radioactive substances, who have undergone training and certification for the right to perform works in the field of nuclear power use have been appointed.

Persons who are admitted to work with ionizing radiation sources have been examined by a medical commission to confirm that they have no medical contra-indications, have undergone training in the safe work practices, have passed examination for admission to work with sources of ionizing radiation and have undergone safety briefing. Individual exposure doses are accounted.

Industrial radiation monitoring is performed in accordance with radiation monitoring program approved by FMBA of RF.

The general inspection of JSC ASE EC carries out the targeted inspections to ensure nuclear and radiation safety.

Within the advanced training in nuclear safety, the personnel of general inspection of JSC ASE EC undergoes training in Rosatom Technical Academy under the program “Advanced Training for Inspectors of Rosatom State Corporation Enterprises and Companies”.

There were no events of level 2 and higher as per the international INES scale in the Engineering Division companies of Rosatom State Corporation.
