Engineering Division has prepared the transportation portal of Kursk NPP-2 Unit 1 for installation of the reactor plant

26.04.2022
Transportation portal of Kursk NPP-2 Unit 1 (general designer and general contractor - Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division) is ready for operation. The preparatory works were carried out by three subsidiary construction companies of the Engineering Division: RosSEM Trust LLC, NIKIMT-Atomstroy and Energospetsmontazh.
Kursk Branch of RosSEM Trust LLC installed the columns and the beams of the transportation portal. The height of the structure is 27.4 meters, and its total weight is over 340 tons.
The walls and the floors, including the floor at elevation +23.350, were constructed by Kursk Branch of NIKIMT-Atomstroy. Due to implementation of RPS project “Optimization of floor construction at +23.350 for installation of roll tracks of Kursk NPP-2 Unit 1”, these works were completed in 99 days instead of the scheduled 118 days.
Specialists of Energospetsmontazh JSC performed the installation of the portal part of the rail track, assembled the trolley with loading capacity of 400 tons and put up the enclosure within a very short time period. Following the tests, the system received a permit for operation.
According to Oleg Shperle, Vice President – Director for Kursk NPP construction project of Atomstroyexport JSC (part of Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division) the transportation portal of the NPP Unit 1 was prepared for operation on time due to the well-coordinated team work of the specialists of the subsidiary construction companies of the Engineering Division. “This will make it possible to commence the installation of heavy equipment –reactor vessel, main circulation pipeline, steam generators and pressurizer, which according to the design is to be located in the containment of the reactor compartment”, Oleg Shperle pointed out.
The main milestone of the Unit 1 construction – installation of the reactor vessel – is scheduled for the second quarter of this year.
