Atomstroyexport received official permission on NPP “Belene” construction

The Ministry for Regional Development and Improvement of the Republic of Bulgaria had considered NPP “Belene” Conceptual Project, construction of which will be performed by the Russian company “Atomstroyexport”, and issued the permission on the plant construction to the National Electric Company (NEC) of Bulgaria.
On July 10, 2008 Protocol № 1 was signed according to which NEC RB officially submits the permission on Bulgarian NPP “Belene” construction to JSC “Atomstroyexport”.
This event has become an important step in implementation of NPP “Belene” Project and opened the possibility for starting a new cycle of works at NPP site.

On October 31, 2006 NEC of Bulgaria officially declared JSC “Atomstroyexport” the winner of the tender on NPP “Belene” construction on the Russian Project “NPP-92” with two power units VVER-1000/V-466.
It has become an important victory of “Atomstroyexport” gained in the open international tender jointly with French Company Areva NP and Siemens Concern.
The signature of the Contract Agreement between JSC “Atomstroyexport” and National Electric Company of Bulgaria on NPP “Belene” construction took place on January 18, 2008 within the framework of official visit of the Russian President V.V. Putin to Bulgaria.
The cost of the Project is 3,997 milliard euro for 2 Units of 1000 МW.
