The exhibition has been held for the third time already in the city of Manama (Bahrain). This time about 100 organizations and companies from 30 countries of the world took part in it. The section dedicated to nuclear power generation was included into basic topical sections of the exhibition for the first time. Atomstroyexport JSC as a part of a unified exposition of Rosatom State Corporation demonstrated at the exhibition the information and video materials regarding directions of its activity abroad and projects being implemented at present. The greatest attention was paid to safety of Russian nuclear energy technologies, improved designs of NPP with VVER reactors. The International Conference dedicated to general energy issues, including the section on nuclear power engineering, was held in parallel to the exhibition. Special attention at the exhibition and at the conference was paid to the most crucial problem for the countries of the region, i.e. water desalination. Contents of the stand of Atomstroyexport JSC and presentation of company capacities on NPP construction abroad aroused great interest of the participants and visitors of the exhibition. More than 400 persons, mainly representatives of energy companies of Gulf countries, European states and USA, visited the stand. A necessity to augment energy capacities is one of the most important problems that the Gulf countries are facing. These states use about 10% of the world energy consumption. Increase in electric power demand is largely related here to the water resource deficit and a necessity to solve the problems of water desalination. Besides, governments of the Gulf countries presume reduction of oil and gas production in the countries. In view of this, the decision on development of nuclear power engineering has been taken in the region at present.
