Head of SC Rosatom, Mr. Sergey Kirienko, and President of Atomstroyexport JSC, Mr. Dan Belenkiy, visited Bushehr NPP Site in Iran

On February 25, 2009 Head of SC Rosatom, Mr. Sergey Kirienko, and President of Atomstroyexport JSC, Mr. Dan Belenkiy, made a working visit to the Site of Bushehr NPP being constructed on a “turnkey” basis by Atomstroyexport JSC. Loading of dummy fuel assemblies in the reactor of Unit No. 1 started during the visit. Loading of dummy fuel assemblies in the reactor is an important event for Unit commissioning and ensures a possibility of reactor assembly and performance of hydrotests and circulation flushing of the primary circuit and secondary circuit. Mr. Dan Belenkiy, President of Atomstroyexport JSC, who visited the Site together with Head of SC Rosatom, has emphasized that the Russian Party does its best to comply precisely with the existing schedules of the power unit commissioning. Atomstroyexport JSC constructs Unit No. 1 of Bushehr NPP on a “turnkey” basis according to the Contract dated 8.01.1995 and Addendum No. 1 of 29.08.1998 based on the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran dated August 25, 1992 on cooperation in nuclear power plant construction in the territory of Iran. Total number of personnel on NPP Site as of February 2009 is 2 751 persons, 1 735 persons out of them are assigned from the Russian Federation. Bushehr NPP is a unique example of integration of Russian technologies in Western design solutions.
