Opening the seminar Timur Ivanov, the First Vice-president of ASE JSC, presented the review of LPRP world market. The key reason of growing interest of foreign customers to LPRP is necessity to use LPRP in the countries with underdeveloped grid and industrial infrastructure, and also in the isolated regions, difficult of access from the points of view of logistics and integrated power grid. In this connection major factors of LPRP competitiveness should be their mobility during operation, modular construction technologies, equipment unification (as a basis for project duplicating), and also a possibility of adaptation of projects to individual requirements of Customers, such as necessity of central heating, desalination, load following or fixed duration of fuel campaigns (up to several decades without refueling). The indisputable competitive advantage of LPRP projects is a faster financial cycle: return of investments under such projects begins much earlier in comparison with the «greater nuclear engineering». Despite of the higher specific capital investments, the LPRP advantages are lower operation costs and personnel quantity. Timur Ivanov especially emphasized, that with the present-day opportunities of the foreign markets the Russian nuclear branch is objectively interested to have in its portfolio the entire NPP project power line promoted in the foreign markets. In the framework of the happening the actual Russian LPRP projects were reviewed, and the level of their readiness was estimated. Besides the fruitful exchange of opinions took place on possible forms of co-operation in bringing the scientific programs up to a stage of realization and subsequent promotion in the world market. Participants of the seminar have come to the conclusion, that a basic condition of success in the world market would be demonstration of the economically attractive LPRP project in the territory of Russia, and have reviewed variants of creation of such reference project.
