The exhibition is held once in two years and is one of the largest exhibition arrangements in CPR nuclear power engineering. The leading world companies of nuclear power engineering field including a large number of Chinese companies have demonstrated its products and innovation technologies. China is experiencing a rapid development of nuclear power engineering. As for the present day 11 units with installed capacity 9 mln. kW are in the operation and 22 units are being constructed in the country. One of the operating plants is Tianwan NPP, during construction of which ASE JSC was the general contractor and the supplier. The Head of ASE JSC Representative Office in the city of Liangungang Alexander Selikhov, speaking before the journalists, mentioned that ASE JSC is preparing to finish the guarantee operation of the first unit in June 2009, and of the second unit of Tianwan NPP – in September 2009. “From the moment of start-up Tianwan NPP has generated about 30 milliard kW/h of electricity, - said Alexander Selikhov. For the period of the NPP guarantee operation three scheduled preventive repairs were carried out. The third one was carried out at the first unit and has finished the other day. Now the unit is operating at nominal capacity, the next scheduled preventive repair of the second unit is planned to be started on May 9, 2009”. Alexander Selikhov also pointed out that as per results of power units operation Chinese specialists had recognized updated Russian VVER reactors as the safest among the reactors operating in CPR, what allows to count on receiving the orders for construction of next power units of this NPP.

The General Contract for construction of Tianwan NPP was concluded with Jangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC) on December 29, 1997. The first phase of the plant involved two power units with reactor plants VVER-1000 with 1000 MW electric capacity each. ASE JSC acted as the general contractor and the supplier. The first unit was handed over to the Chinese customer on June 2, and the second unit – on September 12, 2007. More than 150 Russian enterprises and organizations were involved in the works. As for the present day “Atomstroyexport” is the only company possessing the real referential design of the NPP of new generation. The experts consider Tianwan NPP one of the safest in the world. On November 6, 2007 a Principal Agreement on cooperation in construction of two units of TNPP extension Project was signed in Moscow in the presence of the Government Heads of Russia and China. The Agreement was signed from “Atomstroyexport” JSC - by the President Mr. S.I. Shmatko, from JNPC – by the General Director Mr. Jiang Gouyuan.
