Atomstroyexport JSC has concluded transaction on NUKEM Technologies GmbH procurement

On December 14th, 2009 signing the protocol on concluding the transaction took place in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) at 15.30, local time, under the sales contract between Atomstroyexport JSC (ASE JSC) and NUKEM GmbH. According to the protocol, 100 % of the shares of NUKEM Technologies GmbH, affiliated company of German uranium trader NUKEM GmbH, passed to the property of Atomstroyexport JSC. From Atomstroyexport JSC, Alexander Gluhov, First Vice-president of the company, signed the protocol of concluding the transaction. From NUKEM GmbH –Dirk Martens, Executive Director/Financial Director. “Atomstroyexport expands its competence according to the actual needs of customers, - Alexander Gluhov, First Vice-president of Atomstroyexport JSC, commented the transaction. – Service demands of various countries of the world, in particular, the countries of Eastern and Central Europe, Western Europe, Southern Africa, on RW and SNF handling and decommissioning of the operated NPPs increase. And today we are able to provide them for the countries of the European Union on the basis of NUKEM Technologies GmbH available competence and reference technologies. Being one of the world leaders in the given area of the services, the new asset of Atomstroyexport JSC will be used for generation and realization of comprehensive solutions for development of RW and SNF handling infrastructure within the framework of construction and operation of NPP units and NFC facilities of nuclear fuel cycle.” Procurement of NUKEM Technologies GmbH substantially strengthens and supplements the engineering potential of Atomstroyexport JSC necessary for successful implementation of the national programs of nuclear industry development of practically any country – from decommissioning of the operated power plants up to construction of new capacities on the basis of the most advanced Russian and European technologies. The sales contract for 100 % of NUKEM Technologies GmbH shares was signed between NUKEM GmbH and Atomstroyexport JSC on July 10th, 2009. Within the second half-year 2009, the necessary actions on closing the transaction were carried out.
