JSC “Atomstroyexport” has sent a consignment of large-capacity equipment to NPP “Kudankulam” in India

In the beginning of October the 47th ship consignment of equipment for NPP “Kudankulam” (India) was dispatched from the commercial seaport in Saint Petersburg. One of the completion phases of equipment supplies under the obligations of JSC “Atomstroyexport” (JSC ASE) has been executed. The approximate number of 6500 cubic meters of equipment for the Indian NPP including about 900 km of control and power cable, up to 400 tones of pipes and 2800 units of valves, testing and control equipment, transport lock for Unit 2 and other were loaded on board of “Camogli Star”.
The equipment mentioned above was shipped under the agreements reached in this August at the 23-d session of the Joint Russian-Indian Coordinating Board on the course of NPP “Kudankulam” construction. During the meeting the Indian side noted rather high pace of works in the construction site of NPP “Kudankulam”. JSC “Atomstroyexport” from its side initiated additional events in order to reduce the period of entering the functional test stage of Unit 1.

The scope of obligations of JSC “Atomstroyexport” according to the signed contracts includes: technical design and work documentation development, field supervision of NPP buildings and structures construction within the scope of designing, supply of equipment and materials from Russia and the 3d countries, technical support while NPP mounting and start-up, training of operating and maintenance staff in Russia. Construction, mounting, starting up and adjustment works are executed by the Indian side.
