Atomstroyexport has submitted to the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission a financial proposal on NPP construction

On the 14th of August in Amman (the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan) JSC Atomstroyexport, Company of the State Corporation Rosatom, submitted a financial part of the tender proposal for NPP construction in Jordan to the customer – the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC). The company’s financial proposal contains price calculations for the nuclear power plant construction. Two-stage submission of the tender proposal is JAEC’s requirement. Besides, pursuant to the tender terms the proposal is prepared in the format of EPC contract. Except JSC Atomstroyexport OJSC Atomenergoproject, OJSC OKB Hydropress, SRC Kurchatobsky institute, OJSC TVEL and a number of other key nuclear power engineering organizations took part in preparation of the Russian tender proposal.
According to the Jordan customer’s decision the ceremony of the tender proposals opening will be held in two months. It is expected that by the end of 2011 the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission will have completed expert estimation of the technical and commercial part of the participants’ tender proposals.

The tender for construction of one-power unit NPP in Jordan on “a key-turn” basis with an option of the second power unit was announced in January 17, 2011. In March 29, 2011 the Jordan side sent to the tender participants the inquiry changes regarding the tender proposal presentation. In particular it was offered to include the analysis of the proposed project taking into account NPP Fukusima-1 accident in Japan. The required analysis in terms of NPP safety assurance considering the initiating events and failures taken place in NPP Fukusima-1 was carried out by OJSC Atomenergoproject and additionally included to the tender proposal. In June 23, 2011 the Jordan side informed about the putting off of the submission date of the financial tender proposal to the 14th of August, 2011.
