Atomstroyexport JSC (company of State Corporation Rosatom ) has sent the National Electricity Company of Bulgaria (NEC EAD) a draft addendum No. 14 to the Belene NPP construction agreement between Atomstroyexport JSC and NEC EAD dated 29.11.06 that extends the latter until December 1, 2011. The draft addendum has been prepared in accordance with the roadmap of priority measures for the realization of the Belene project.
In his reply letter Michael Andonov, NEC EAD Director, assured that the draft document will be considered and turned over to the project consultant HSBC, the Bulgarian power holding EAD and the Ministry of economics, power engineering and tourism of Bulgaria for agreement. The Customer’s proposal on the addendum content shall come to Atomstroyexport JSC on August 15, 2011.
At the same time Atomstroyexport JSC is reckoning on the implementation of the agreement and signing of Addendum 14 to the Agreement of 29.11.2006 within terms not critical for the formation and realization of bilateral agreements on the project financial structuring and formation of Project company.
At present NEC EAD and State Corporation Rosatom have formed a financial working group on Belene NPP construction project. On Belene NPP site the foundation pit is fully ready for commencement of construction of the first power unit; the concrete-mixing plant is operated; construction of the purification facilities is finalized; the civil and geotechnical laboratories are equipped accordingly.
