JSC NIAEP attends the III International Forum of Nuclear Industry Suppliers «ATOMEX-2011», December 6-8, World Trade Center, Moscow

The proceedings of the forum, held by the State Corporation «Rosatom» (SC «Rosatom»), are provided with exhibition of suppliers and international conference and targeted to attracting newer suppliers into the nuclear industry, improvement of quality of equipment and services to be procured, enhancing transparency of procurement activities, development of the competitive environment, and increasing of investment resources employment efficiency for nuclear facilities under construction and operation.The forum commenced with opening speech of Sergey Kirienko - General Director of SC «Rosatom». Making a review of prospects for the development of the industry, to which equipment and materials supply requests are intimately related he stated, that «after tragic events that tumbled down on NPP Fukushima there were a lot of pessimistic forecasts in regard to any further development of the nuclear power industry. But half-year passed - those predictions failed». Mr. Kirienko pointed out that in comparison with February of this year, when the dealing portfolio of «Rosatom» contained 12 nuclear power plant units - one unit was commissioned in Iran, for today the volume of orders under the signed contracts and agreements amounts to 21 power units. To draw special attention of the forum participants Sergey Kirienko emphasized on principle priorities of the procurement system - reliability, safety and high quality, and only under these conditions – reduction in prices.On December 7, a number of NIAEP specialists addressed breakout sessions of the conference. In particular, Ivan Uvarov - Head of Procurement Information Support Department, made a report on «Creation of the Unified Nuclear Industry Catalogue of Equipment and Materials. Suppliers Implication in the Process».Within the exhibition for the purpose of increasing of the forum participants interaction efficiency a special presentation section of equipment and services suppliers is in work to cover such areas as: «Design and Construction of NPP. Building Constructions and Materials», «Electronic and Electrical Equipment», «Information Technologies» etc.The forum is attended by more 650 representatives of 300 Russian and foreign entities of the industry, expositions of 120 companies are presented.
