Atomstroyexport JSC, a company of State Corporation Rosatom, continues the works within the framework of Bushehr NPP (Islamic Republic of Iran) first criticality. At Busherh NPP there was implemented a successive stage of start-up and adjustment works – installation of the turbo-generator set for power unit No.1 on the barring gear.

Before implementation of this stage there was performed a large scope of the works ensuring the availability of the turbine and generator as per mechanical part, as well as oil systems of lubrication, rotor hydro hoisting and turbo-generator set bearing spheres were put into operation.

The next stage of start-up and adjustment works will be preparation of process systems for their operation at a minimally controlled power level of the reactor plant.

Construction of the nuclear power plant Bushehr complies in full with international regulations in force, legislation, non-proliferation regime, and is being implemented under IAEA supervision.

Atomstroyexport JSC is completing the construction of the nuclear power plant Bushehr, which was started by German Concern Kraftwerk Union A.G. (Siemens/KWU) in 1974. In 1980 the concern abandoned the contract with the Iranian customer due to decision of German government to join American embargo for equipment supplies to Iran.

On August 24, 1992 the government of the Russian Federation and the government of Islamic Republic of Iran signed an agreement concerning cooperation in the field of atomic energy peaceful use, and on August 25 there was concluded an agreement concerning construction of the nuclear power plant in Iran. In January 1995 there was signed a contract for completion of Bushehr NPP unit No. 1. In 1998 an addendum to the contract was signed according to which Atomstroexport is to complete on a turn-key basis the construction of the 1-st unit with installed electric capacity of 1000 MW with the reactor plant B-446. Actually the construction of Bushehr NPP was started by the Russian party in 1998. In 2001 the supply of NPP main process equipment commenced.
