JSC “Atomstroyexport” has carried out hydraulic testing of the second circuit equipment of Kudankulam NPP at pressure of 100 kg/sm2

21.01.2011
With technical support of JSC “Atomstroyexport” (JSC ASE), subsidiary of Rosatom State Corporation, hydraulic testing of the second circuit equipment of the first power unit of Kudankulam NPP (India) at pressure of 100 kg/sm2 was successfully completed. The pressure build-up was implemented according to NPP precommissioning program. All systems of the Unit worked in operation mode.
Earlier, on December 27, 2010, at Unit 1 of Kudanlulam NPP hydraulic testing of the primary circuit equipment with pressure build-up to 250 kg/sm2 were completed. Thus, the scope of work on hydraulic testing of India’s NPP equipment was successfully completed.

Hydraulic testing of NPP’s Units 1 & 2 equipment – is a significant operational arrangement at the Completion Stage of the NPP construction. This is one of the substeps of Unit’s commissioning. During hydraulic testing, the quality of manufacture and erection of the main thermomechanical equipment and operability of Unit’s technological systems, including electrotechnical equipment and technical devices of Instrumentation and Control System, were confirmed.
