Atomstroyexport took part in the technical workshop on Russian nuclear power engineering technologies in Hungary

Budapest (Hungary) hosted a technical workshop on Russian nuclear power engineering technologies arranged by State Corporation Rosatom. The workshop was participated by JSC Atomstroyexport, OJSC OKB Gidrppress, OJSC SPbAEP, RSC Kurchatov Institute and Nukem Technologies (a subsidiary of JSC Atomstroyexport). The main topic of the workshop was presentation of VVER-1200 design – a water-cooled water-moderated power reactor with electric capacity 1200 MW. This technology is offered by the Russian party as an optional one for construction of new power units of Hungarian Paks NPP.
The reports of JSC Atomstroyexport specialists were devoted to the company’s experience in construction of NPPs abroad with account of the national customer’s requirements, practice in large localization of supplies, arrangement of interaction between Atomstroyexport JSC and national sub-contracting organizations. Localization is a trend of modern market. When implementing NPP construction projects abroad, JSC Atomstroyexport ensures involvement of national suppliers by localization of up to 70% of services and equipment supplies. Nukem Technologies representative reported on technologies and practice in RAW handling – unique references possessed by this company.
Within the framework of the workshop its participants also visited Paks NPP. At present JSC Atomstroyexport is interacting with Hungarian organizations for supplies and equipment for Paks NPP. JSC Atomstroyexport also expresses its readiness to participate in further modernization of the plant operating power units and in possible construction of new power units in the territory of Hungary.
