Consortium of ENEL Ingegneria e Innovazione and JSC Atomstroyexport successfully completed integrated test of new CCGT power unit at Nevinnomysskaya GRES

29.06.2011

On June 25, 2011 at Nevinnomysskaya GRES site there was successfully completed integrated test of new CCGT-410 MW power unit. This power unit construction was carried out by the Consortium headed by Italian company Enel Ingegneria e Innovazione in cooperation with JSC Atomstroyexport, a firm belonging to State Corporation “Rosatom”. Integrated test of CCGT power unit included its continuous operation during 72 hours at the rated capacity in accordance with the schedule approved by Transmission System Operator of power grid in the Northern Caucasus. Presently, certificate for the test successful completion is being issued in order to get from the Customer and other interested parties approval for the power unit putting into commercial operation. The project of new CCGT power unit construction at Nevinnomysskaya GRES is on the “List of power generating facilities used for power supply under contracts for power supply” approved by the Order by the RF Government No. 1334-р dtd 11.08.2010. This project is one of the first in Russia realized following “open-book” principle; at that contract price wasn’t firm and was calculated on “Cost Plus Fee” basis at the preset target price. This approach allowed to ensure the transparency in invested funds spending and also to achieve considerable economy of the Customer’s resources.
Contract for CCGT-410 MW power unit construction between OJSC Enel OGK-5 and the Consortium of Enel Ingegneria e Innovazione and JSC Atomstroyexport was concluded on July 18, 2008. This project is financed within the frames of OJSC Enel-OGK-5 investment program for development of power generating facilities, first of all, via setup of combined cycle gas turbines that are highly effective and show minimum adverse impact on environment. Contract for CCGT power unit construction at Nevinnomysskaya GRES was signed on EPCM terms – engineering, procurement, construction and management over the Project. Construction works were started on November 26, 2008.
Gas-turbine unit first synchronization with the power grid of the Stavropol Territory and the Northern Caucasus Republics in course of commissioning works took place on April 11, 2011. After conduction of the necessary checks and tests gas-turbine unit capacity was brought to the rated level. On June 8, 2011 steam-turbine unit synchronization was completed after which the Consortium of Enel Ingegneria e Innovazione and JSC Atomstroyexport proceeded to arrangement and conduction of integrated tests.
Reference:
The Customer’s (OJSC Enel OGK-5) scope of responsibility included supply of main power generating equipment of the “power island”, namely, gas-turbine unit, steam-turbine unit and heat recovery steam generator. The Consortium’s scope of works includes basic and detailed engineering, supply of the rest mechanical and electrical equipment, construction-and-erection works including supply of construction materials, and also commissioning works and tests.
Within the Consortium limits JSC ASE undertook to perform the following works: engineering survey at power unit construction site, development of feasibility report and detailed estimate documentation, supply of bulk materials, civil construction works (including construction materials supply), equipment erection, support to commissioning works for the power unit equipment, and upgrade of 330 kV HV substation on “turn-key” basis.
