JSC Atomstroyexport has presented its exposition at the 17th International exhibition on power engineering and environment ICCI 2011 in Turkey

JSC Atomstroyexport, Company of the State Corporation Rosatom took part in the 17th International exhibition-conference on power engineering and environment ICCI 2011, held in Istanbul (Turkey). For the first time such exhibition was organized in 1994 and since then it has been attracting national and international participants on a regular basis. This year the exhibition-conference took place in one of the most prestigious exhibition centers - Istanbul Expo Center.
The exhibition ICCI 2011 was organized under the support of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Forestry and Environment of Turkey as well as with the assistance of different power engineering associations. Taner Yildiz, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey took part in the exhibition opening ceremony.
During the exhibition-conference the issues on liberalization and restructurization in the field of energy complex, EC energy policy and other matters were discussed. For the first time ICCI program has included nuclear power engineering aspects. Special attention was paid to Akkuyu NPP project realized within the frames of the Agreement signed on the 12th of May in 2010 between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Turkish Republic on cooperation in the field of construction and operation of Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkish Republic, according to which JSC Atomstroyexport was appointed to be the General Contractor of the construction project. The meeting devoted to the development of nuclear power engineering was opened by the report of N.Olpaka, the general director deputy of Independent Association of Turkish industrialists and entrepreneurs (MUSIAD). The general director of the “Design Company on Akkuyu NPP construction” A.E.Superfin also presented his report.
JSC Atomstroyexport was presented at the exhibition as a part of the united exposition of the State Corporation Rosatom including the information on the company’s capabilities, its current and perspective projects, practical experience in promotion of the advanced Russian nuclear technologies. The most attention was given to the safety of the Russian nuclear energy technologies as well as “NPP-2006” project, which was offered to the Turkish side within the frames of Akkuyu NPP construction project implementation.
Exposition of JSC Atomstroyexport caused great interest from the participants of the International exhibition-conference on power engineering and environment ICCI 2011.

On the 12th of May in 2010 in Ankara during the visit of the Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev, to Turkey an Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Turkish Republic was signed on cooperation in the field of construction and operation of Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkish Republic. JSC Atomstroyexport is the General Contractor of NPP construction. The project of the first Turkish NPP includes four VVER reactors with the power of 1200 MW per each power unit. Akkuyu NPP construction is planned to be realized on BOO terms (build-own-operate). Akkuyu NPP construction will allow generating about 35 trln. kW/h of electricity per year.
