A technical meeting on the issues of implementation of works and designing of complexes for radioactive waste treatment and storage at the facility in Andreeva Bay was held in Atomstroyexport JSC

In Atomstroyexport JSC, a company of Rosatom State Corporation, a technical meeting was held on the issues of implementation of works and designing of complexes for radioactive waste treatment and storage at the facility in Andreeva Bay. Representatives of Rosatom State Corporation, FGUP Federal Centre for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, FGUP RosRAO, RMTB Onega OJSC, FGUP SNPO Eleron, Engineering Centre of Nuclear Containers OJSC, Russian-Italian Project Management Group, Italian companies Sogin, Ansaldo Nucleare, Teckint, and SRS took part in the meeting. The meeting was held within the framework of program of G8 global partnership and the Agreement from 05.11. 2003 between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Italian Republic on cooperation in the field of dismantlement of Russian atomic submarines retired from the Navy and safety in radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel handling. In the course of the meeting final decisions were made on technological procedures, main technical parameters and equipment of the SRW, LRW treatment complexes and the collecting ground for temporary storage of containers. Within the framework of the next technical meeting, projected for the end of July 2011, issues on the engineering systems of RA treatment complexes and the collecting ground for temporary storage of RW containers will be discussed. Reference: Within the implementation of international agreement on cooperation in the field of dismantlement of Russian atomic submarines retired from the Navy and safety in radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel management, concluded between Russia and Italy on 05.11.2003, Atomstroyexport JSC is assigned as coordinator of Russian subcontractors during designing of complexes for treatment and temporary storage of RW at the facility in Andreeva Bay. In 2010 the contract was signed between Atomstrroyexport JSC and FGUP Federal Centre for Nuclear and Radiation Safety on development of EIA and OOS sections of the Design Documentation, and in February 2011 the contract was signed between Atomstroyexport JSC and Ansaldo Nucleare on the development of Design Documentation. The Italian Government sponsors the works at the facility.
