JSC Atomstroyexport has registered its branch in Turkey

The branch of JSC Atomstroyexport, a company of the State Corporation Rosatom, has been included into the trade register of legal entities in Turkey. The relevant registration certificate was issued on the 3d of October in 2011. JSC Atomstroyexport branch in the Republic of Turkey was opened in Eshilovadgik town of Mersin province. This step will allow the general contractor on Akkuyu NPP construction to optimize his activity on the territory of Turkey as well as to broaden the role in Akkuyu NPP implementation project directly on the construction site. The prospects for the nearest future include establishment of the required infrastructure and construction start of the building-installation base, auxiliary structures, inhabited area for NPP construction and operation personnel.

The branch of JSC Atomstroyexport has become the 12th in the number of foreign companies representations and branches opened in 10 countries of the world.

In May 12, 2010 in Ankara during the visit of the Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev, an Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in the field of NPP construction and operation on Akkuyu site in the Republic of Turkey was signed. In compliance with the Intergovernmental agreement JSC Atomstroyexport is the general contractor on the nuclear power plant construction. The project of the first Turkish NPP includes four VVER reactors. The power of each NPP power unit will amount to 1200 MW. Akkuyu NPP construction is planned to be implemented on BOO basis (Build-Own-Operate). Four-power-units NPP construction in Turkey will allow generating about 35 bln. kW/h of electricity per year.
