JSC NIAEP: registration for the international forum is underway

16.04.2012
The 2nd International research and practical forum “Life cycle management of complex projects. Development of competitive construction technologies” will be held on 14-15th June 2012 in Nizhny Novgorod.

The consolidated company NIAEP – ASE, an enterprise of the state corporation “Rosatom”, is organizing the event.

The aim of the forum is to share the expertise in creation, deployment and application of project life cycle management systems between Russian and foreign companies from different industries, to develop competitive construction technologies and to demonstrate proven solutions. Russian and foreign companies from nuclear, construction and other industries, involved in developing PLM systems, from 23 countries, have been invited to take part in the forum.

“We will be happy to see anyone who is interested in the topic mentioned in the title of the forum, says Valery Limarenko, director of the consolidated company. – In Nizhny Novgorod in June we will resume the discussion that we began a year ago at the first international research and practical forum “Smart Engineering. Life Cycle Management of Complex Products” which collected over 300 specialists from 135 organizations from 15 countries and included leading IT vendors”.

At the first forum JSC NIAEP prepared and presented its agenda on life cycle management of complex products, speaking of the need for a common information model and adopting the life cycle management logic in the design, construction and decommissioning stages.

“PLM programs are in demand now worldwide. We are already working on a solution that will unite process, design and civil engineering into one digital model of a nuclear power plant. This approach will enable to design in different information environments under one navigation system. It will help prevent errors and manage the project configuration”, - Valery Limarenko explains.

The counterparts invited from other countries (Finland, USA, France, China and Korea) and from other industries in Russia (oil, defense, ship building) confirmed in their speeches the relevance of the agenda:

“PLM is a multi-aspect problem including technical and economic issues, safety and personnel training aspects; all of them should be settled in mutual agreement for the short, mid and long perspectives. What is essential is that safety should be continuously improved and the Fukushima events proves the concept”, commented Raimo Raitanen, manager technology at NPP Loviisa, Fortum (Finland).

The key event of the second forum will be a conference “Life cycle management of complex projects. Development of competitive construction technologies” where it will be discussed whether the customer (the State, operators and other owners of nuclear facilities) is ready to buy the PLM product and whether engineering companies are able to offer such a product. Consulting and IT companies, specializing in development, coordination and integration of PLM products, will join the discussion.

A number of seminars will be held: “Information technologies: from as-designed to as-built model”, “Cost management technologies in complex projects”, “Modern construction technologies in complex projects” and “Nuclear cluster in Nizhny Novgorod”.

The proceedings from the forum will be used in design and construction of nuclear facilities in Russia and abroad (Bangladesh, Belarus, Hungary, Vietnam, India, China, Slovakia, Turkey and Czechia).
