On 5-6th April 2012 the governing board of the VVER TOI project held a meeting in NIAEP chaired by Aleksander Poloushkin, deputy general director in engineering, JSC Group Company Rosenergoatom.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Rosatom, Rosenergoatom, Atomenergoproekt (Moscow), Design office of Rosenergoatom, VNIIAES, VNIPIET, Gidropress and NIAEP.
During the meeting NIAEP showed the results of its work on the VVER TOI project, specifically, 3-D model of the turbine hall, Multi-D technology, materials and resources database and the results of creating a life cycle management system.
At the meeting the open issues which the participants of the project are faced with during its implementation were also discussed; they include cost management, updating of the legal and regulatory base and research and development activities.
Summing up the results of the two-day meeting Aleksander Poloushkin said, “NIAEP has shown its achievements in LCM, Multi-D and other activities conducted for the VVER TOI project. Now we are entering the design stage in the Nizhny Novgorod NPP project and in the Akkuyu NPP project for which we will apply these achievements”.
The next meeting of the VVER TOI project governing board in NIAEP is scheduled for early June 2012.
Reference:The VVER TOI project is a standard optimized and informatized project of a large capacity plant based on water-cooled water-moderated reactors (VVER); it will allow to reduce costs of NPP design, construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning. The VVER-TOI project takes origin in the AES-2006 project and makes the most of the experience gained by nuclear companies in developing the latest VVER technology-based NPP designs (RP V-320, Novovoronezh NPP-2, Kudankulam NPP, Bushehr NPP and Belene NPP).
A powerful “national” team has been created in the state corporation Rosatom and includes specialists from different enterprises who are working on the standard optimized, informatized VVER technology-based power plant: Design office of Rosenergoatom,Atomenergoproekt (Moscow), VNIIAES, FSUE Kurchatov Institute, Gidropress,VNIPIET,and NIAEP.
