The 2nd International Research and Practice Forum «Life Cycle Management of Complex Engineering Projects. Development of Competitive Construction Technologies» sums up

On 14-15 June, 2012 the 2nd International Research and Practice Forum «Life Cycle Management of Complex Engineering Projects. Development of Competitive Construction Technologies» was held at the Nizhegorodskaya Yarmarka, Nizhny Novgorod.The lead driver and moderator of the event is the merged company JSC NIAEP-JSC ASE - an enterprise of the State Corporation «Rosatom».The forum participants noted the excellent organization and well coordinated work of the merged company JSC NIAEP-JSC AES team that has convincingly shown the improvement of its competencies and availability for expansion of geography and activities both domestically and overseas.«This is the second forum on life cycle management of сomplex engineering projects, but it is for the first time we are holding it as a merged company bweing the leader of engineering of the domestic nuclear industry and a Russian exporter of NPPs construction services, - stated Valery Limarenko, Director of JSC NIAEP and Executive of JSC ASE. - We are glad to see our Russian and foreign customers - both today's, and potential, our suppliers, colleagues, and partners. For two days we have done big work which, I am sure, will fructify in cooperation».The purpose of the Forum was to contribute to the exchange of experience and knowledge between executives of Russian and foreign companies of various industries on creation, implementation and use of complex engineering facilities life cycle management systems, development of competitive construction technologies, and demonstration of effective solutions.The forum welcomed over 650 representatives from 200 companies of Russia, Belorussia, Czechia, France, Sweden, Germany, Ukraine, India, China, Vietnam, Japan, USA, Switzerland, Korea, Spain, Slovakia, Denmark and Finland. The participants include the company group Rosenergoatom, FSUE RFNC VNIIEF, JSC OKBM n.a. Afrikantov, JSC Atomenergoproekt, JSC “INTER RAO EES”, the innovative center of nuclear technologies Skolkovo, JSC “Vertolety Rossii”, “Liebherr Rusland”, the nuclear power corporation JNPC, AREVA, SKODA JS a.s., Dassault Systèmes, Toshiba Corporation, Intetrgraph PP&M, Construction Corporation N 1 (Vietnam) etc.The forum was held for the second time. One year ago, at the first forum, participants discussed the design stage life cycle management; the recent forum was dedicated to the project construction management system. In this connection before the forum started in Nizhny Novgorod a group of participants had visited the Rostov NPP Units 3&4 site to see how the unified information system operated in situ.Michael Vodchits, General Director of JSC «Stroitelny Trest № 8» (Brest, Byelorussia) shared his impressions: «We have started to work with JSC NIAEP-JSC AES on construction of the Byelorussian nuclear power plant. I've been engaged in the civil engineering since 1979, but I saw a lot of new at the Rostov NPP: the site preparation process, high technologies used during construction. I even slightly envy the youth, superintendents, masters who due to these innovations will be capable to apply the knowledge and forces for plants construction. The respect is inspired with the order, cleanliness, and high quality».Paul Ender (Director of Foreign Trade - East of Armature Group Co., Czechia) participating in the forum for the second timet, noted: "Our company is engaged in production of industrial fittings, including valves for nuclear power stations. It was interesting to see how theoretical things, which we discussed one year ago, now already are in operation at the site. I am sure, that the project life cycle management system is efficient". Joy Manjali Inasu, Head of Representative Office of the Indian Atomic Energy Corporation Ltd. in the Russian Federation, is grateful to organizers of the forum for the warm welcome and the hard-driving program. To India has he taken a lot of new and useful information, new knowledge of information technologies in design and construction of nuclear facilities, allowing to reduce time and expenses for their construction. The key event of the second Forum became conference "LCM of Complex Engineering Projects. Development of Competitive Construction Technologies» where on 14th June Valery Limarenko, Director of JSC NIAEP and Executive of JSC AES, made presentation "LCM at the Stage of Construction. Construction Information Management System". Gerhard Sellinger - President of Intergraph PP&M, Stefan Deckle -Vice-president of DASSAULT Systemes, Eric Luanko - Head of IBM Nuclear Sector, Tivoli, and other participants of the forum shared their companies’ experience.Besides, on 14th June, JSC NIAEP and self-control organizations (SRO) of the nuclear industry signed cooperation agreement providing joint programs on perfection of NPP construction processes of and personnel training.At the forum a memorandum of creation of the nuclear engineering cluster of the Nizhny Novgorod Region was signed to incorporate 30 enterprises of the Nizhniy Novgorod and Vladimir areas. More over, JSC NIAEP and Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev signed a cooperation agreement setting up a specialized academic department of the university in NIAEP. This department of the technical university to be named as “Life cycle management systems of complex engineering facilities” will be set up in NIAEP and will be headed by Valery Limarenko, Director of NIAEP-ASE, Doctor of economics.Also the NNSTU hosted a session of association «Consortium of Basic High Schools of Nuclear Industry of Russia» members. The first day of the Forum work ended in solemn ceremony where diplomas were awarded for successful implementation of high technologies to construct facilities. Presenting the awards, director of JSC NIAEP and executive of JSC ASE Valery Limarenko pointed out: «The year ago, at the first forum, we discussed the design stage life cycle management; today the focal point is development of complex engineering facilities construction management technologies. Nizhny Novgorod has hosted the top specialists who have essentially got on with along this stream and reached foundational bottom lines. Today we are rewarding the leaders of innovative construction technologies. There were three enterprises rewarded with diplomas of the II International Research and Practice Forum «Complex Engineering Facilities Life Cycle Management. Development of Сompetitive Competitive Technologies». Toshiba Co. (Japan) was awarded with diploma «Leader in Implementation of Innovative Solutions for Erection Procedures 6D-Modelling».With reference to the forum proceeding deliverables, Takeshi Miyaoka - expert of Project Management Department, Toshiba Co., noted, that cooperation with JSC NIAEP has been lasting for more than four years, becoming more and more effective; and that JSC NIAEP has achieved impressing results in the field of Multi-D technology implementation both in design, and construction of plants.Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC), the People's Republic of China, was marked with diploma «For successful startup of the Russian 3-generation design power unit».«Participation in the forum is a great honor to our company. This is the second working visit to JSC NIAEP, the activity of which on construction of nuclear plants imposes upon me. Some days before the forum started we saw how the plant construction management information worked for Rostov NPP Units 3&4 under construction. At the forum we discussed this matter with our colleagues and partners from NIAEP - the dialogue was very interesting and productive», - said Liu Zhaohua, Deputy General Manager, JNPC.The Main Department «Board of Directors of the Byelorussian NPP under construction» was awarded with diploma "For effective organization of works of preparatory period on construction of 3-rd generation power units of the Russian design".«We are satisfied with the General Contractor's high appreciation of the Customer efforts on the organization of works of the preparatory period and involving Byelorussian enterprises into the process of the Byelorussian NPP construction», - underlined Nikolai Grusha, Director of Nuclear Power Department of the Ministry of Power of the Government of Byelorussia.Within the forum the following workshops proceeded as well: «Information technologies: from design model up to model «as built», «Technologies of Complex Engineering Projects Cost Management», «Modern Technologies for Complex Engineering Facilities Construction» and round table «Radiotechnologies and Materials Properties Change: the Materiology Engineering Language Problem».In parallel with the forum the VI International Research and Industrial Forum «Nuclear Engineering Fair» worked.It was opened with conference "Arrangements for VVER-TOI Project equipment procurement", the master of which, A.K. Polushin - Deputy General Director, Director on Design Engineering of JSC «Concern Rosenergoatom», delivered a speech.During walkover delegation of JSC NIAEP-JSC AES led by the head of the merged company Valery Limarenko reviewed the activities and products turned out by enterprises - the fair participants.About 100 Russian and foreign organizations - suppliers of equipment and materials for NPP construction participated in the fair.On 14th June, 2012 at the solemn ceremony in the Armorial Hall of the Nizhny Novgorod Fair ten enterprises - the nuclear engineering fair participants were rewarded with diplomas and memorable prizes. These enterprises - two of Byelorussia and eight of Republic of Czechia - amounted to symbolical teams of equipment suppliers for NPPs of the Russian designs AES-2006 and MIR 1200.According to Roman Zdebora, Вirector on Quality of Skoda JS a.s., the awarding of the Czech team with the diplomas is a high estimation of long-term cooperation of the companies. Mr. Zdebor qualified the JSC NIAEP-JSC AES as of one of the first companies really introducing in practice innovative technologies of NPP design and construction.At the Nuclear Engineering Fair also two round tables took place: "Questions of manufacturing, certification and delivery of equipment" and "Construction of cooling towers in regard to the projects of VVER-TOI and the Baltic NPP".The forum work was covered with over 30 reporters representing corporate, branch, regional and national mass-media.The forum events were translated in on-line mode at:
