On 16th March, 2012, a video conference was held between the management of the merged company NIAEP –ASE and the management of JNPC and CNPE.

The main subject of the videoconference was the Tianwan NPP 3&4 construction project works status (People’s Republic of China). JNPC (M. Xue-Jian, general director of JNPC) is the customer in the Tianwan NPP 3&4 construction project (People’s Republic of China). NIAEP-ASE (Limarenko, director – acting president) is the general designer of the nuclear island and will supply the main equipment for Tianwan NPP 3&4 nuclear island. At the videoconference the results of the second coordination meeting, held on 1st – 10th March 2012 in China, were summarized. During the meeting attended by 200 Russian and Chinese specialists, 130 issues were discussed covering TNPP-3&4 designing, equipment procurement, detailed engineering documentation handover schedules, housing conditions for Russian specialists etc. In relation to the events in Fukushima, the issues on plant safety improvement were discussed in depth. Then the parties discussed the key questions on TNPP-3&4 designing. The minutes, recording the proceedings of the videoconference, were signed. “Such meetings enable all the participants of a project to coordinate their actions promptly in a flexible way, said Valery Limarenko. – The videoconference has been productive, we have adopted a number of important decisions related to further collaboration“.

TNPP is the biggest project in economic cooperation between People’s Republic of China and Russian Federation. In accordance with the Russian – Chinese intergovernmental agreement, signed in 1992, JSC ASE was in charge of Tianwan NPP 1&2 construction project. In 2007 the first two power units of TNPP (2x1060 MW) were handed over to the Customer (JNPC), and the power plant was commissioned, the warranty period proving its safe and reliable performance. On 23rd November 2010 JSC Atomstroyexport and the Chinese companies JNPC, CNPE and CNEIC signed the general contract for construction of Tianwan NPP second phase (power units 3&4, 1060 MW per unit). In August 2011 China and Russia confirmed commencement of the contract.

The both companies are working on 20 projects being implemented simultaneously in Russia and abroad. The company is using advanced software products for nuclear power plant engineering. Since 2002 a 3-D model has been applied in NPP engineering. A quality management system was introduced in the company complying with the requirements of the international standards. It was successfully certified in the TUV SUD international center.
