Working visit of the delegation of South Africa Ministry of trade and investments is being held in the merged company JSC NIAEP – JSC “Atomstroyeksport” (JSC ASE)

Fact-finding visit is being held in accordance with the program of cooperation. Memorandum of understanding was signed between JSC “Rusatom Overseas and the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (NESCA) in June, 2012.
The delegation includes representatives of the Ministry of Trade and investments, Nuclear Industry Association and specialists of the leading companies of the South Africa nuclear complex. Visit will be prolonged from October, 23 till October, 25th. The visit is planned to be held during the period of 23th-25th October.
Their working visit the delegation led by the director of Investment department of the South Africa Ministry of trade and investments – Gerhard Brand – starts with the central office of JSC NIAEP in Nizhny Novgorod where they can find more about design possibilities of the company (for today JSC NIAEP is one of the global leaders applying smart design technology “Multi-D”). JSC NIAEP represents to the visiters its innovations: application of the unified information space system in course of design and construction.
“The republic of South Africa is in need of electric power”, Gerhard Brand has emphasized in his openings speech, “ First of all we are planning to develop nuclear power engineering sector which share in power balance of the country should increase. It causes our interest to your company and for this reason our delegation is so representative”.
South Africa delegation will also visit the Rostov NPP 3&4 construction sites (Volgodonsk-city, Rostov region), and learn how these projects are applied practically. The Moscow branch of JSC NIAEP and JSC ASE is included in the visit schedule as well.

Visit to the construction site is the most convincing argument”.

Rostov NPP is a branch of JCS Concern Rosenergoatom. The plant is located on the bank of Tsimlyansk water basin at 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. Two power units with reactor type VVER-1000 of installed capacity 1000 MW, are in operation; power unit N 1 was commissioned in 2001, unit N 2 – in December 2010. Units N 3&4 are under construction. Nizhny Novgorod engineering company “Atomenergoproekt” (NIAEP, www.niaep.ru) is the general contractor. The company is part of State atomic energy corporation “Rosatom”.
