The first Agreement on civil-and-erection works within the framework of “Akkuyu” NPP construction in Turkey has been signed

The first Agreement on civil-and-erection works has been signed between the branch of JSC “Atomstroyeksport” (ASE) in Turkey, represented by Director of the branch Alexander Mironov, and Turkish Company OZDOGU Insaat ve Ticaret Ltd.Sti , represented by Director Murat Kavak.
The firm “OZDOGU Insaat ve Ticaret Ltd. Sti” has been chosen basing on the results of tendering procedures.
The Agreement includes barrow excavation at the site of “Akkuyu” NPP, rocky soil thorough reversion for use in civil works, as well as site grading. It is planned that four million and a half of cubic meters of rocky soil will be reversed in the course of works.

On 12 May 2010 during the visit of the Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev, to Turkey an Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Turkey on cooperation in construction and operation of nuclear power plant at the Akkuyu site in the Republic of Turkey was signed
In accordance with the inter-governmental Agreement JSC Atomstroyexport is the General Contractor of NPP construction. The project of the first Turkish NPP includes four VVER reactors with the power of 1200 MW per each power unit. Akkuyu NPP construction is planned to be realized on BOO terms (build-own-operate). Akkuyu NPP construction will allow generating about 35 trln. kW/h of electricity per year
Since 2012 the project has been implemented by the merged company JSC NIAEP – JSC ASE. )

The merged company JSC NIAEP – JSC Atomstroyexport (ASE) was established in March 2012 by the resolution of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom. Thus, NIAEP has become a holding company JSC ASE.
