The total investment in the development of the Belarusian NPP site in 2015 is planned to increase up to 14.337 billion Russian rubles that is 71% more than in 2014. The number of construction staff in the current year should double on average compared to the previous year and should total 5.5 thousand people.
“This year, the total investment will amount to 14,337 billion Russian rubles, based on current prices. It is 71% more than the last year investment plan in the amount of 8,4 billion Russian rubles”, as Mr. Yuriy Pustovoy, Director of Belarusian NPP construction – Director of NIAEP Belarus representative office, stated at a regular coordination meeting on the Belarusian NPP construction.
The coordination meeting was held on the Belarusian NPP construction site (Ostrovets, Grodno region, Belarus) chaired by Mr. Vladimir Semashko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus. The meeting participants were representatives of the Government of the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian NPP RUE (construction owner), NIAEP – Atomstroyexport United Company as the general designer and general contractor, heads of the Belarus subcontractors, and Grodno regional administration.
The meeting agenda included current matters related to the construction of the first NPP in Belarus. Mr. Igor Shchegolev, Vice-president of the United Company in charge of Belarusian NPP project in NIAEP-ASE, pointed out the key events of the year at the site: installing in the design position and concreting of the outer and inner containment of reactor building of Unit 1 as well as erection of inner walls and floors of the reactor building of Unit 1 up to the design elevations.
